Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a booking fee?
Yes. A $75 non-refundable retainer fee ($150 for Events) will be required to secure a date for your session. This also serves as a deposit that will be deducted from your final payment. Your full gallery will be sent upon final payment.
What do I need to do to book a session?
Step 1. Please go to my contact page and fill out the form so I know a little about what you’re looking for.
Step 2. I will send you a calendar of my availability and there you will book a date and time. (This process will be a little different for Event Photos)
Step 3. You will receive an email or text from me to schedule a 15-30 min consult to go over the details of the shoot including a list of friends/family that will partake in the photos and a location for the shoot. I can also address any questions or concerns you may have.
Step 4. You will receive a contract and quote. The final invoice will be sent after the session.
Do you do studio sessions?
Not at this time.
Do you provide props?
I typically do not provide props, but fun props make for great photos so you are welcome to bring anything you like!
When will I get my photos?
Turnaround time for a digital photo album is typically about 2 weeks, depending on the type of session.
How will my photos be sent to me?
A gallery with a password and download code will be sent via Pixieset.
Do you do Photoshop edits?
I edit for color and my personal style on all photos, however, because it can be very time-consuming, more complicated edits such as skin retouching and removing objects or people can be done for an additional fee of $45 per photo. You can choose which photos you want retouched/edited after you receive the gallery.
What happens if it rains/snows or if I need to reschedule because of an emergency?
This is on a case-by-case basis, but I will reschedule up to 2 times for each booked shoot.
What are the best times of day for an outdoor photoshoot?
Morning golden hour (the hour after sunrise), and evening golden hour/blue hour (the hour before sunset and just after sunset) provide the best light for photos. I do all outdoor sessions in the morning or early evenings. I generally try not to shoot during midday unless it’s overcast.
Can I bring someone to the shoot who was not originally discussed?
I do a lot of prepping and planning for each shoot so all members of a photo session must be discussed beforehand. However, if you want to bring one or two people along to be your stylist or cheerleader, go for it!
Can I have the original RAW files?
No. Photographers typically do not share their RAW images with clients as the final images reflect the art and vision of the photographer. All photos will be sent as high-res JPG files.
Will my photos be used on your website/social media?
As outlined in the contract I may use any photos I take during the session to help promote my photography business online. But don’t worry, I only use the best photos! However, if, for any reason you want to keep your photos offline I do charge an extra $50 fee.
